17th December, 1932.
The Honourable
The Director of Public Works.
Sir,
Having received a letter from my brother in India,
requesting my immediate return and attendance to an urgent family affair; therefore I have the honour to apply for 6
months full pay leave of absence commencing on or about
21st January, 1933,
accordingly.
Requisition for passage attached herewith
As I do not expect to spend the applied leave in
whole, but shall return to the Colony as soon as the matter
concerned is straightened up; therefore I have had to leave
my dependants in the Colony, as they have recently returned
from India. Under the circumstances I beg to state for
information and request that as my dependants will continue
to occupy my present quarters during my absence, they be
allowed to draw my usual rent allowance and salary locally
in order to defray their necessary expenses.
In support I beg to request that my devotion to duty
during 28 years faithful services with the Government (and
especially in periods overdue for leaves unless urgently called
off), be taken into favourable consideration and under G.0.169
(2) the unexpended leave on my return together with the balance
of leave now due and resident s ervice in connection there to for
the purpose be placed on reserve for my future use. So far
during my whole service I have had enjoyed 3 long leaves only,
against over 5 due, and returned from last leave on 14.6.26.
I regret for inconvenience, which might be caused
by short notice of my departure and shall be much obliged
